18 inch doll Tudor gown and French hood. Gown features a fully lined dress in red duchess satin and underskirt.
Dress bodice is lined in cotton up to upper sleeve. Lower sleeve is lined in brocade. Extra wide sleeves are then worn turned back to show brocade lining. Skirt is pleated into the waist and lined in a coordinating colour. Skirt splits at the front to reveal underskirt.
Underskirt has a panel of brocade but is constructed of calico and lined in white cotton. Underskirt ties at the back with cotton tape.
French hood is in the same fabric as the gown. It is backed with felt, stiffened with buckram and elasticated to hold it in place. Hood is then hand beaded.
This gown features a large number of materials and requires a lot of labour.
Fits most popular soft bodied 18 inch dolls. Doll in photographs has a 10 3/4 inch waist. Based on a Swish and Swirl pattern
