18‑inch Doll • 1830s “Sarah Hale” Wedding Gown
This one‑of‑a‑kind 1830s wedding gown is entirely handmade in the UK, sewn with the same meticulous techniques used in heirloom children’s garments. The dress is crafted from premium laminated ivory cotton, chosen for its soft drape, subtle lustre, and long‑lasting quality—an elevated fabric that feels historically authentic while standing up beautifully to years of display or gentle play.
The bodice features a cross‑pleated front inspired by early Victorian bridal silhouettes, fully lined in crisp white cotton for structure and durability. Sleeves are puffed below the elbow in true 1830s style and finish with hand‑sewn snap closures at the wrist. The skirt is neatly pleated into the waistband, giving the gown its period‑accurate fullness. All seams are professionally finished to prevent fraying, ensuring the piece remains pristine for generations.
The gown fastens at the back with metal snaps—secure, reliable, and chosen specifically for collectors who value longevity over plastic fastenings.
Fits most popular soft‑bodied 18‑inch dolls. Additional photos are available on my Instagram, where the gown is modelled by several well‑known doll brands.
